"Now is the time for the practice of yoga. Mere philosophy will not satisfy us. We cannot reach the goal by mere words alone. Without practice, nothing is achieved. "
- First Yoga Sutra, Patanjali

"I have known Dulce for years as her yoga teacher. She has also taken the dedicated, disciplined plunge to study yoga, in-depth, for a one-month Intensive Teacher Training. Dulce is a wonderful teacher, considerate of her students, and so enthusiastic. She is a true leader. Anyone who has the opportunity to study dance or yoga or anything with Dulce will leave energized, empowered and motivated. She is a Light." - Jeanne Heileman Instructor / Teacher Trainer at Yoga Works

Dulce Capadocia/Yoga is a solid expression of Dulce’s physical training as a dancer, her classical training in music using it as a resource to access tranquility and beauty (which is healing in itself), her innate trust in the body’s ability to attain a sense of well-being (when given tools), her own devotional practice and her years of experience as a professional performing arts teacher. Providing careful alignment principles and adjustments to her students when appropriate, Dulce’s heart-opening classes strive to integrate the total union of mind, body and spirit to access optimal health and personal growth. Yoga encourages physical and mental well- being, improves strength, balance and flexibility, helps to manage stress, promotes better self-care, and connects people to supportive communities. Mobile and self-contained, Dulce offers tailor-made group classes for all levels as well as private classes for the discerning client.

Dulce’s path to yoga comes as a natural transition and integration to her professional work as a dancer. She began her yoga journey when fellow dancer, yoga teacher and long-time friend Michelle Broussard ushered her into Max Strom’s powerful Vinyasa class. At the time, multiple family members were terminally ill. Alone and dealing with serious illnesses, crises, and eventually major losses, yoga became the grounding force in Dulce’s personal life. She began taking dedicated classes several times a week and continued this for over a decade maintaining a solid, steady practice through the esteemed Yoga Works studios. She trained in yoga’s many styles including Hatha, Restorative and Vinyasa, a practice that links movement with breath. She credits the plethora of skilled, inspirational and knowledgeable teachers at Yoga Works: David Lynch, Joan Hyman, Whitney Allen, Caleb Asch, Colleen Garrity, Kim Fisch, Clay Kyle, Billy Gil, Steven Friedman, Susan Priver, and many more.

After a decade of practice working under the Yoga Works Grass Roots Work Exchange Program, Dulce decided to deepen her yoga studies by completing her 200 hours Teachers Training at Yoga Works; studying by the beautiful sacred Mayan waters of Lake Atitlan Guatemala under her very first yoga teacher Jeanne Heileman (Senior Teacher and Teacher Trainer/Yoga Works & Founder of Tantra Yoga Flow), she graduated in 2012. In 2013, she received her RYT status from Yoga Alliance and has been teaching in Los Angeles and in Philadelphia.

Complementing her strong background in movement with the somatic principles found in yoga, she brings her unique program of Vinyasa Yoga to schools, studios, apartment complexes, and offices on the West and East Coasts. While in LA, she founded Recession Yoga, an affordable, all levels yoga program for community members living in the Silverlake, Echo Park and Historic Filipinotown areas. On the East Coast, she was on staff at Fountain of Yoga Studio in NE Philadelphia where she taught beginning, intermediate, advanced and all level classes ; she taught pregnant teens at the Project Teach program at YMCA/Trenton New Jersey, worked at Dhyana Yoga Studios in Center City; and created a first ever program of yoga education as a Resident Yoga Trainer in the luxury apartments of historic Alden Park/East Falls - an area in Philadelphia known as being the ancestral home of actress Grace Kelly.

A trauma survivor herself, Dulce completed her Trauma-informed Yoga Teachers Training through Yoga Ed at Loyola Marymount University with Yoga Teacher/Clinical Social Worker/Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Kyra Haglund. Today, she is seeking ways to assist fellow survivors dealing with trauma and its effect on mental health by sharing knowledge of mindfulness and well-being strategies. Working in partnership with her Asian-Pacific community and cultivating these deep cultural roots which has been a large part of her dance career, she has led Dance/Trauma-informed Yoga workshops sponsored by the LA County Department of Mental Health and has worked alongside FASGI, the Filipino American Service Group, Inc. of Historic Filipinotown/Los Angeles. FASGI provides a variety of services for LA residents including mental health outreach and education and arts incubation programs. Her clients come from the offices of the Philippine Consulate General to trauma survivors of human trafficking.

"Dulce Capadocia’s yoga classes were the best that I had ever attended. She offered personalized attention and specific directions that allowed me to work within my limitations, correct some bad habits, and get the most out of each asana."
- Asuncion Ojeda, Teacher/Musician, Los Angeles

"I had the privilege of practicing with Dulce in her early teaching days. The funny thing is--it felt like she had been teaching for years! Dulce is a natural, gentle and loving teacher who comes from the heart and cares deeply about her practice and students. My only complaint is that I wish she was closer so I could take class!!!"
- Ericka Bodhi Edgar, Dancer, Los Angeles

"Dulce is a sensitive yet tough teacher who inspires me to be very present in my body, mind, and spirit. She gave very specific corrections and adjustments to my form, which made all the difference in my yoga practice. Her classes helped me to be more calm, focused and balanced. A treasure now in Philly!"
- Alma Cielo, Performing Artist & Violinist/Los Angeles

“Her life let alone her classes have touched my life and changed me forever for the better! She is an amazing teacher and I don't think I could find another experience like the one she gives me! She gives peace in the moment through the way that she teaches; she is hard but gentle at the same time….. and she gives love and respect that I feel obligated to return!”
- Chelsea Lightbourn, Therapist, Philadelphia

“I don't have any family here. My yoga community is my family. I was hit by a car and flipped in the air. My body was banged on my left side. My face was all bruised and swollen. Everybody in the class was so helpful. The meditation, the moves, the stretches, and the kindness of my yoga community and Dulce's big heart helped me bounce back. I had experienced a wide range of emotions and pain. Dulce's Yoga really helped me to go through this hard time in my life. She's the gem in this community.”
- Ping Song, Alden Park Resident, Philadelphia
